Dear Sameeksha, Both LPU and Chandigarh University are good and doing well. I won't say good or bad to any university. But being alumni of LPU, I can provide the details of B.A. LL.B. With you at LPU and you can take a decision accordingly. LPUs School of Law is approved by the Bar Council of India. The students are groomed for bright professional careers by providing a wide range of exposure to theoretical as well as practical aspects of the law. The school organizes international conferences, visits by nationally acclaimed law practitioners to allow the students to gain skills and experience in the field of law. Students get real-time experiences through moot court competitions organized at national and international levels. Students completed their internship with Jalandhar Police Commissionerate and learned vital aspects of the handling of sensitive cases by police. Policing posits a host of challenges to the police personnel who have to strike a balance between competing values of individual freedom and the establishment of peace. Students were exposed to the saliency of weapon handling, undertaking patrolling and surveillance tasks, resolving general law and order issues by police as part of the duty. Students are groomed through internship exposure and individual-oriented mentoring for a bright career in the legal arena. Our students have interned in reputed law firms and under High Court judges of different states. Workshop for Students going for internships is conducted for 7 days to meet with the industry requirements. Pre-Internship interviews and internship drives are regularly held. Special career counselling led by industry experts and members of academia is held for students who register for placements to determine their niche area of interest in the legal field. Practical exposure through Moot Courts, District Court, and Legal Aid Clinics visits. The curriculum is made following the Bar Council of India (BCI) norms. Workshops/Seminars on computer applications and client interaction is an important aspect of the curriculum
In addition to core curricula, the course offers subjects like communication and soft skills to enhance personality and employability. Dear Sameeksha, I don't know the hotel management programme details of Chandigarh University but can share the same about LPU. I am an alumnus of LPU and completed my MBA programme there. One of my friend's brother is also studying there in Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology BHMCT )
Let me share few points about the Hotel Management programme at LPU :
Curriculum: High academic standards are maintained by offering the curriculum framed in consultation with industry experts. Student exposure: Being a part of a resource-rich University, the students have an advantage of interdisciplinary exposure which is not possible in standalone colleges. University-Hotel: The School also trains its students in the campus hotel named UniHotel of 25 rooms hosting national and international guests where students practice along with the staff. Infrastructure: The School has five modern kitchens with two bakeries. All kitchen and bakery are equipped to enable a student to perform scientifically and to attain their best of learning through most modern gazettes. We have few training restaurants to teach a student about the authentic serving style of food and beverage. We are equipped with one front office laboratory, two housekeeping laboratories, two computer laboratories with 60 computers, and a simulation laboratory for aviation. Placement: Good placements record with minimum 10% students selected as Management Trainee (Junior Executive level) till date and the placement is with brands like Cox & Kings, Carnival Cruise, JET Airways, Oberoi, Taj, Leela, etc. Package: Six students were offered the package of Rs 8 Lacs by Carnival Cruise in last years. Internship: Industry internships in top national and international five-star hotel brands like The Leela Palace, ITC, Taj, Oberoi, The Grand, Marriott, etc. Intellectual Strength: Faculty members with a holistic blend of academic & industrial exposure.
