Hi,
Mechanical engineering from IIT-Delhi is a dream of many JEE aspirants.
For the same, you need to get a rank under top 500 if you are a general category student.
IIT-Delhi is one of the top 5 IITs.

Hi,
You got a good rank. I am a bit sure that at this rank, you will get admission in IIT-Delhi. But can't predict which branch you will get. You can use Shiksha JEE Advanced predictor tool to know the branches available.

These new IITs don't compare with the likes of DTU, NSIT, old NITs, BITS Pilani, IIITH, etc. If you just want to go for the IIT tag then its your choice. But wise decision will be to go for above mentioned institutions. Going for newer IITs just for the sake of brand name is like buying Iphone 4 just for the sake of apple tag when you could have bought much advanced and better phone at the same price.

IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee are old and best institutes but as per the present rankings IIT Delhi holds a good position and it provides better placements.

The reason being IIT-D is already a well-established brand and placements would not be a big issue there unlike these baby IIMs. I agree one cannot ignore the IIM tag, but there is still lot of time before these IIMs establish themselves properly(it's been only 2 years since their existence). You may contact the current students and alumni for more insights.

Among all IIT's, IITD is best for electrical engineering. They have the best faculty who have published some really good books in their subject which are now standardized for that course. Other than that they have the best research and placements are just amazing. Power and automation has a really good scope in near future which is expected to grow exponentially with time.
Rest is upto you.

That totally depends on the branch you want. To get computer science, you need an AIR under 200, whereas, you can get textile engineering at around AIR 3000-4000.
