Q:   Does IIT Delhi offer free of cost studies?

A:

No, the tuition fee for the IIT Delhi BTech is around INR 8 Lacs. At the UG level, IIT Delhi offers four to five-year BTech courses to students. The IIT Delhi accepts the JEE Main and JEE Advanced entrance exam scores for admission to various courses. IITD has ranked 2 under 'Engineering' and 4 under 'Overall' and 'Management' categories by the NIRF 2022. Apart from the PG and UG courses, IITD also provides a PG Diploma course for the DMRC and Indian Navy-sponsored candidates. Q:   What if I can't get into IIT for BTech?

A:

Not getting into IIT Delhi or any other top IIT should not be considered an end to a student’s career. While IIT Delhi gave an average package of INR 17.6 LPA to its 2023 placements batch, can IIT Delhi guarantee the same for each and every student of the batch? The answer is no. What truly matters is a student’s dream to pursue a career in Engineering and as long as they are ready to work on their learning and are focused towards achieving their goal, they must not feel defeated in case of not getting into IIT Delhi.

Additionally, students always have an option to go for other good private and government universities and colleges to pursue their BTech degree. Some of these options are as follows:

IIT Delhi:- Infrastructure and Culture.
Placements: This year, the placement was a little low due to recess, but in normal, the places were around 90% with an average package of around 20 LPA and the lowest at around 6–9 LPA. Most students in my class prefer a software-type role. More than 500 companies register every year.
Infrastructure: The college is spread over around 250 acres. Every inch of college is beautifully designed. Hostels are very affordable, with only $8,000 per semester. The mess fee is quite high; it's around 35k per semester considering mess has been purely vegetarian till now. Overall, it's a great experience to be part of the IIT Delhi campus.
Faculty: All faculty members are qualified. IIT Delhi is among the top colleges in India, so you can't question the qualifications and experience of the faculty. The faculty-to stident ratio is around 1:10. The course curriculum contains both core mechanical and modern computer knowledge that makes you fully ready for work in industry.
Other: It's a great experience to be part of IIT Delhi. Beside academics and placement, it has vast culture of extracurricular activities. It has many clubs like robotics, dance, music, etc. And there is also vast culture in sports.

There is plenty of time to explore other areas, if you are still confused about your career.
Placements: On a general note, the placements are pretty good; every student who has worked even a little bit on skills and maintained an average CGPA has been able to get a job. In my course, the skill aspect helped more students get an internship or placement. For the core companies, there were Vedanta, JSW and also Chakr Innovation in internships. Apart from that, Adobe, BCG, and McKinsey also selected some students.
Infrastructure: Our department is a new one; hence, it doesn't have its own infrastructure as of now, but from next year onwards, our department will be shifting to a new building that is very well built and has some of the best lab equipment in India. Hostels are decent, but they are quite old too so people do have to deal with the infrastructural issues. The newer hostels have much better facilities.
Faculty: The course is very manageable as the content is not very difficult and quite relevant to the field. If studied regularly throughout the semester, it's really easy to score well. Professors are also skilled and almost all of them have completed their PhDs from very prestigious universities. They are always ready to help us if we of any doubts. So the teaching quality is good. The difficulty of semester exams depends on professors. About 90–95% of students pass the courses on average.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the course curriculum of mathematics and computing department at IIT D.
Placements: The highest package would be around 2 CR, which is PPO. And the lowest, I would say, CTC is 8 lpa. I'm in the mathematics and computing branch at IIT Delhi, so I would say that till the 4th day, almost 50% were placed and till the 10th, 75%. As per the recession, it's quite okay for me. But in normal situations, it could have been way better. Top companies like Graviton, NVidia, Google, Microsoft and many more. The top two roles were software and data analysts.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available in my department are quite good, as per need. We have proper classes in the lecture hall and have Wi-Fi access at all locations on campus. Also, library hours are nice. And we have 24*7 access to the library at times of examination. Mess food quality is okay, not worse and not good. I'm in the Himadri Hostel. The canteen is okay too and medical facilities are also okay. The same goes for sports and games.
Faculty: Average teaching quality was very nice and some professors connected really well with us and conveyed concepts but we have some not-so-good professors too who aren't interested in average students and focused only on tips, which is not quite a good strategy. The course curriculum for my branch could be made more structured and flexible. Semester exams are difficult; it depends on the professor taking the course but overall, if you have prepared for the whole semester, it's easy and if you only do them two days before exams, it's going to be tough.
Other: I wanted to be in only the top IITs, so I took the most valuable branch I could get, which is mathematics and computing, at IIT Delhi. The best thing is that you are going to get placed even if you are putting in very little effort. To be improved would be its curriculum and the way of teaching. Extracurricular activities were excellent at IIT Delhi, but they have declined in recent years.

This is one of the best colleges for me.
Placements: The percentage of Our IIT Delhi has 99 percent of students are placed. The highest package is 40 lacs per annum, and the lowest package is 24 lacs per annum. The top recruiting companies collaborate with more than 500 companies, such as Google, Meta, TCS, Yahoo, and many more. Many Students have got 80% students got Internships.
Infrastructure: The facilities are topnotch in IIT Delhi, with Wi-Fi facilities with high range on campus and in class. In the library, we can get all types of books, the classrooms are well cleaned, and smart boards are used in the class. We have the best facilities in our hostel, like Wi-Fi connections and electricity 24 hours a day, and food facilities are there.
Faculty: The teachers are more helpful and well qualified, and they have good knowledge. This course curriculum makes it easier for students to learn some skills and some different types of courses. The semester exams are more difficult to study, and the pass percentage is 5.6 points out of 10, or 55 percent of marks needed to pass.

All about IIT Delhi electrical branch.
Placements: As you know, IIT is known for their packages in reputed companies, as I am in the electrical branch, so the lowest package is around 15 lakhs and the highest goes up to 1 crore and above; the average is around 22 lakhs. Most of the students get internships from my course.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available to our department will surely be the best, as it is one of the most reputed colleges all across India. The hostel has all the facilities, including a mess and a gym. Medical facilities are also provided; there is a hospital on the IIT Delhi campus.
Faculty: Obviously, the teachers are highly qualified here; most of them have done their Ph.D. from the world's best universities, although they fail to teach concepts to students. The semester exams are quite medium type and the passing marks are the same as most of the colleges, which is 30 percent.
Other: As this course work as a bridge between core type jobs and coding related jobs so this is the reason why I take this course and obviously the rank factor. Many events take place at IIT Delhi one of them is rendezvous. As the campus is in main Delhi so all places can be traveled by metro Scholarship is given to people who qualify the criteria.

Admissions at DMS IIT Delhi are subject to the CAT (Common Admission Test) score. As of now, CAT 2023 registration is actively ongoing, and candidates interested in pursuing MBA and other programs at DMS IIT Delhi should complete the CAT registration process to be eligible for admission.
