If you want a well-established college culture and willing to discover your interests, go for IIT Delhi. But know this, that you will have to make your own way, be it coding or any other job.

Hello Varun,
In IIT Delhi's engineering physics programme, focus on nanotechnology and photonics, both emerging technologies. They use equipment like LASERs and create thin films, with a thickness of ~100 nanometers. They study physics, in both, its purest form, as well as when applied, and take on the universe, trying to harness the secrets it holds for the betterment of human lives. It is more of a theoretical and research based branch, if you have a keen interest in physics, you can surely go for it.

Hi,
Mechanical engineering from IIT-Delhi is a dream of many JEE aspirants.
For the same, you need to get a rank under top 500 if you are a general category student.
IIT-Delhi is one of the top 5 IITs.

Hi,
You got a good rank. I am a bit sure that at this rank, you will get admission in IIT-Delhi. But can't predict which branch you will get. You can use Shiksha JEE Advanced predictor tool to know the branches available.

These new IITs don't compare with the likes of DTU, NSIT, old NITs, BITS Pilani, IIITH, etc. If you just want to go for the IIT tag then its your choice. But wise decision will be to go for above mentioned institutions. Going for newer IITs just for the sake of brand name is like buying Iphone 4 just for the sake of apple tag when you could have bought much advanced and better phone at the same price.

IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee are old and best institutes but as per the present rankings IIT Delhi holds a good position and it provides better placements.
