IIT Delhi M.Tech admission is completely entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to the IIT Delhi M.Tech course must appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). However, BTech graduates from IITs with an overall CGPA of 8.00 out of 10 are exempted from GATE and are eligible for direct admissions. Apart from this, candidates are also requested to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria to be eligible for IIT Delhi M.Tech admission.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will hold the centralised counselling process for admission to BTech programmes at IIT Delhi following the release of the JEE Main 2024 results. We refer to this procedure as JEE Main 2024 counselling. The exact dates of the JEE Main 2024 counselling sessions are often announced by JoSAA shortly after the exam results are known. During the counselling process, students will be allowed to choose the colleges and courses they wish to enrol in, including IIT Delhi, based on their JEE Main ranks. Following the seat allocation rounds, those who were awarded seats at IIT Delhi are required to fulfil further admission requirements in compliance with the institute's norms.

The least competitive course is M.Sc.in Biological Sciences with a cutoff rank of 488. So, candidates seeking admission to any of the MSc course must secure a rank upto 488 to be eligible for IIT Delhi IIT Delhi admissio to the MSc course is based on IIT JAM scores, followed by IIT JAM counselling process.
