Manipal Centre for Humanities (MCH), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is considered a high-quality institution and the level of its fees is understandable. Here’s what it looks like in full: MA Programs:- The Tuition fees: somewhere between INR 1.5 – 2.5 lakhs per annum- Total program costs: Approximately INR 3 – 5 lakhs for the study period of two years. BA Programs:- The Tuition fees: roughly INR 1 – 2 lakhs per annum- Total program costs: Approximately INR 4 - 6 lakhs for the course duration of four years. Additional costs:- Residential costs: INR 1.2 - 1.8 lakhs per annum (not compulsory).- Common dining hall charges: INR 80,000 – 1 lakh per year (optional).- Examination fees, security deposit and additional miscellaneous expenses. Scholarships and financial aid:- Scholarships based on academic merit (up to 100% waiver of tuition fees).- Scholarships provided by the government (e.g. CSIR, ICMR).- Loans to facilitate education. Even though MCH may appear to be on the higher side of the economic scale, think of it this way:- Inclusive of study of programs that other universities do not offer.- Well known professors along with research available. - Better placement and good contacts with industries. - Possibility to socialize and interact on a global level. In comparison to such other institutions in India, MCH's fee structure is:- At par with Ashoka, Azim Premji kind of private university.- Cheaper than even the foreign universities offering humanities education. In the end, it all comes down to how you perceive the pros and the cons in relation to your expectations, career aspirations and especially how much money you have. To ensure you are getting value for your money:- Take advantage of on-campus facilities (libraries, research centers).- Participate in internships, research projects, and extracurricular activities as necessary.- Build relationships with faculty members, alumni, and other professionals.
