MET exam pattern consisted of the details regarding how the examination was held. As per the official MET exam pattern, the examination was held as a computer-based test at various centres. The total duration of the examination was 2 hours. Candidates had to answer Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT). For every correct answer, the candidate was allotted four marks. There was no negative marking for Numerical Answer Type (NAT) but one mark was deducted for every wrong answer in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Candidates will be allowed to freshly register and submit their choice of course and campus for every round. Already registered candidates who are not satisfied with their allotment can also modify their choices during the further rounds of MET counselling. Separate allotment results will be announced for every round. Candidates will be eligible to participate in all rounds of MET counselling.

While preparing the timetable, the students should ensure that it should be personalized and as per their abilities. Students are advised to divide the subjects and topics into different slots so that the studying process does not become monotonous. However, the students are also advised to refer to important books such as Class XII Mathematics by RD Sharma, Problems in Calculus by SL Loney, Higher Algebra by Hall and Knight and Trigonometry Geometry Books by IA Maron. By checking different references and study materials, the students will have a higher chance of performing well in the entrance examination.

Revision is very important for the candidates to do well in the entrance examination. Students are advised to revise daily for a few hours so that they are able to retain what they had earlier studied. Revision is also helpful in allowing the students to go through the difficult topics again and trying to understand the concepts. If the candidates regularly revise then they will have lesser chances of forgetting what they had studied and will be able to perform well in the entrance examination. While creating a timetable, the students are advised to allot a few hours everyday for revision.
