We all know that IITs and NITs are best in the business for engineering. But UIET, Chandigarh is also a very good college. But, in my view, NIT Harimpur is better in terms of placement and faculty members. Make the best choice. All the best.

NIT, Durgapur is better than NIT, Hamirpur in all perspective. Both are good but location wise Durgapur is best. Also NIT Durgapur has better placement record.

You may try for JoSAA counselling but it's quite difficult to find a seat in a government architecture institution as they close within 2000 for SC,ST or OBC category.

Simple reason for it is that you can change your college at any point in time but your branch comes along throughout the life. Also, a low branch from an elite institute will be a short-term comfort but a good hard work in core branch from an average college will be worth it and reward you more.
