NIT Rourkela - National Institute of Technology Answered Questions

The students who have B.Tech background in any stream can only apply or take admission in NIT-Rourkela. But do not lose hope as there are many good colleges who provide MBA programme. There are most reputed colleges in India as well abroad who provide a good business study with renowned professors and also holds good placement records. You can surely apply for those colleges. As according to current scenario, I'll prefer you to opt for the NIT-Trichy for the B.Tech in metallury, chemcial from Rourkela,as in this college you will find the best faculty, infra and placements as compared to other colleges that you have mentioned above.

For getting admission in NIT, Rourkela or in any NIT whether you belong to Odisha or not, you have to pass and score good marks in JEE Mains. Only board marks are not enough. Board marks are just for eligibility not for giving you a seat in NIT.

As you have scored 48 percentile in JEE Mains exam 2019 and you belong to ST category so you are eligible to participate in the counselling process. Still getting a seat in NIT will be difficult with this score. So I will suggest you to apply for some other colleges also.

Hi Wangchen, you are eligible to participate in the counselling process. But getting CSE in first round will be difficult. You CAN EASILY GET ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL OR CIVIL ENGINEERING. So I will suggest you to participate in the counselling process wisely and smartly and wait till the last round of the counselling.
