Good social exposure, but dissatisfied location, great faculty, and people.
Placements: Placements are good. The batch size is roughly 114, but yes, all students have different fields of focus. Some pursue higher studies, etc., with guidance from the placement committee. Offers are available both on-campus and off-campus, and the alumni network is also strong. In the first year, it’s not allowed to contact seniors, but afterward, you have great exposure to them through meetings and clubs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of some hostels is good, while that of others is not. The LAN connection is great, but the food quality is poor and not very helpful; however, the day and night canteens are lifesavers. There are excellent facilities such as a central swimming pool and a central gym, and each hostel also has its gym, with maintenance occurring every week.
Faculty: Adopting the new education policy highly emphasizes skills and development rather than just memorization. However, the tests are tough with a 0% chance of cheating due to the recently installed CCTV and the supportive environment for studying. The central library provides almost every book, most of which are old but still sufficient.
Other: With 1,200 acres of campus and multiple branches, such as EC, EI, and AI, which have recently been added, there is a huge student population. Events are frequently hosted, including cultural events and hackathons. The campus is surrounded by mountains, allowing for exploration. All the more often, the campus consists of mountains in it, so you can travel it without going out.

I summarised all points regarding the hostel, faculty, and placements.
Placements: Many students are placed in my branch. Almost my seniors are placed in top most companies even the students with low are also placed in any companies without but main draws back is that the students who are trying to shift to non core is a bit difficult.
Infrastructure: Almost all facilities are provided on my campus, like a library, sports, Wi-Fi, etc. The facilities are also good, but the main thing is that the food is only good for north indian people. The people coming from South India face difficulty with the food they are served.
Faculty: Faculty members are very nice and experienced. There is a vast technology for research in many areas. The curriculum caters to students in various sectors. For example, I have a course in AIML, although I am from the mechanical engineering branch. The semester exams are, as usual, one night batting. The pass percentage is almost 95%.
Other: I chose this course because I have no idea about my career as I didn't explore any domain, so I suggest students explore all domains before choosing a course. Please go through all activities and career development in the course you have selected.

College is overrated be prefer only if you're in that region. Students are great, peers good minds.
Placements: I am not sure about the current year, but according to previous year data, 95%+ students in the electrical batch are placed. However, the LPA is not as impressive as in the IT sector or semiconductor companies. I would say the average is around 50 students who got 30 LPA and above, 10-11 students got 50 LPA and above, 1 student got 1.2 crores, and 3 students got 98 LPA last year.
Infrastructure: Hostels are great, and food is also available with both veg and non-veg options. There is a separate mess for pure veg and Jain people with only a veg menu. I eat there, and the food quality is great. The infrastructure for electrical engineering is average, not great for inventions or projects, but all that is required for the course is available.
Faculty: Not all faculty members are non-cooperative, and they mostly help their regional students. Other students are ones who have to suffer more. The curriculum is hectic, with 85% attendance required, and exams are easy. There is no relative marking, so you can decide accordingly.
Other: I did all that in the above reviews, but I would like to add something if the attendance criteria were lower, it would be better, and adding some more new-generation courses would be beneficial.

NIT Rourkela is the Institute of Dreams.
Placements: Most of students who are my seniors are in good positions. During the farewell party, I get to know that my seniors are placed in companies like Microsoft, ONGC, and some are hired by the National Highways Authority of India. The basic package is 12 LPA, but it can go beyond according to skills you have. In my course, Civil Engineering students prefer government sectors or the software sector based on their skills.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is outstanding. Starting from classrooms, they are digitalized with smartboards and air conditioning. The library is centrally air-conditioned, with most books available and online research papers accessible by our institute IDs. Hostels are decorated with Wi-Fi facility all over. The hostel provides good-quality gym and AC-fitted reading rooms. The food quality is good, and there is a special mess for pure vegetarians.
Faculty: All faculty members are very much friendly and helpful for our better future. We are no one to judge them, they are simply awesome in their fields. The curriculum is very much relevant after NEP 2020. In my point of view, semesters are not that difficult if you attend regular classes.

NIT Rourkela is one of the best colleges in India.
Placements: NIT Rourkela has a 90% placement record annually. Top companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and many more recruit talent from the institute. They offer packages up to 120 LPA, showcasing the institute's caliber. Numerous internship opportunities allow students to gain practical exposure, often leading to pre-placement offers. By the end of the third year, the students become eligible for placements. Companies like Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, and Google visit our college to recruit students.
Infrastructure: Facilities available in our hostel include Wi-Fi, drinking water, light, fans, and beds. Fully air-conditioned classrooms are available in our college. A central library is also available on our campus, and books can be issued to students. The quality of food in the mess is average. There are 3 canteens available on our campus, and the fast food is good. We have a small ground to play different sports like volleyball, football, and cricket. However, only one sport (either cricket or football) can be played at a time. We also have a badminton court, table tennis, and music facilities.
Faculty: There is a quarter-based exam system, and in B.Tech, there are 8 semesters. The mid-term is for 20 marks, the half-yearly exam is for 70 marks, and the class test is for 10 marks. The exam system is very good. The exam center is in our classroom. All the teachers of NIT Rourkela are very helpful.

Absolutely dissatisfied with faculty ! And placements are average, you'll only get a degree !
Placements: Well, placements of this college was very average only few of the batchmates will secure placements and the minimum salary of 3lpa which is like 25k per month this is not expected from a top tier NIT ! For mechanical students here in NIT Rourkela the average is around 6-8 LPA and the highest goes around 15lpa in the core jobs. The highest package mentioned in website are somewhat fake because it? S the package of a mechanical student who attended no core placements and coming to internship out 115-120 students only 1-2 will be selected for internship!
Infrastructure: For first years, the infrastructure of the hostel was way too bad It? S not even painted for 4-5 years ! Very small rooms are allocated to 2 people the rooms actually made for only one however they gave to two people and the Wi-Fi they don? T provide any outer we have to buy they just give a LAN port and drinking water facility in hostel only one purifier in block which is no good And the infrastructure of college and academic area was good no complain ! Library is well-equipped no issues.
Faculty: There are mixed up reviews on faculty ! Some are good some are literally not eligible even for teaching in the first semester we ended up wafting YouTube to study that? S how bad the faculty was ! The semester exams were a little tough and majority of the class passes except 5-10% of people !
Other: Well, here in Rourkela many of the faculty are based! They show partiality to Odisha students, they give more marks to them ! The events are very good in the college by the way ! The campus is very close to city which helps us a lot.
