What's new regarding NIT Rourkela? JEE Main Session-I application window has been extended up to April 25, click here to know more. NTA has also rescheduled the JEE Main 2022 exam dates for sessions 1 and 2 exams. JEE Mains 2022 session 1 exam will now be held from June 20 to 29 while the session 2 exam will be conducted from July 21 to 30. 

NIT Rourkela offers over 140 courses including specialisations across four streams. The college offers UG, PG and PhD courses under 20 departments. NIT Rourkela admission is primarily based on national-level entrance exams. The institute offers BTech, BArch, BTech-MTech (Dual Degree), MBA, MSc, etc., in the fields of Engineering, Science, Architecture, Management and Humanities.

BTech is a four-year degree course offered in 14 specialisations. The mode of application for NIT Rourkela is online. NIT Rourkela Scholarships 2022

The students of NIT Rourkela can apply for scholarships offered by the National or State Government. PhD scholarship/ fellowship is also offered to students by the institute. Below-mentioned are the details of some of the NIT Rourkela Scholarships:

Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS): SC/ ST students are eligible for Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) of the respective State Governments if they satisfy the norms set by the State Government.

Top Class Scholarship: Among the admitted students in the first year top 12 SC students and top 5 ST students are eligible for the scholarship by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, GOI and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, GOI provided their parental annual income is below 4.5 lakh.

GATE Scholarship: Students who have taken admission through GATE are eligible for a scholarship of Rs 8,000 per month.

PhD scholarship: A PhD student having MTech/ MPharm degree and within the age limit are eligible for an Institute research fellowship for four years. The students will get Rs 31,000 per month for the first two years and Rs 35,000 per month for the next two years on satisfactory performance.

It is a good college. It is ranked 2nd in the top NITs.

Placements: We get to know about vehicle mechanics and dynamics, so most of our seniors are recruited in Tata, Mahindra, etc. Future study programmes are connected with this branch, which will provide extra knowledge and scholarship for higher studies.

Infrastructure: The hostel facility is the best. It has M. Visvesvaraya hostel. For the first-year students, the hostel facility is separate. In the final year, we get a single room each for our studies. The food served is one of the best in Rourkela, and it is of restaurant ...

Placements: I am studying B.Tech in electronics and instrumentation engineering in NIT Rourkela. Around 70%-85% of students were placed according to our seniors. The highest salary package offered in our branch was 21 LPA, and the average salary package offered was around 6.3 LPA-7 LPA. Coco-Cola and Pepsico are some major companies which recruit EIE students.

It is a very good college. It has the best faculty members, placements and infrastructure.

Placements: I have been watching our seniors placements and internships. The training and placement cell is very good. I am hoping for a good placement for me. There is a really good teaching environment.

It has excellent infrastructure and good placements.

Placements: About 90 to 100% of students were placed from the CS department. The highest package offered was 42 LPA, the average package was around 15 LPA, and the lowest package was around 3.50 LPA. The top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Bajaj, etc., come for recruitment in NIT Rourkela. Almost all the students got internships, on-campus and off-campus. Roles like software engineer, web developer, computer hardware engineer, computer system analyst, and many more are offered.
