Earlier if you want to study in NIT for general category student 160 to 200 marks was okay. In the current scenario, it is still valid for getting an NIT.

Is there chance to get admission in mechanical engineering in any of the NITs? I have scored 90 percentile.

Mechanical engineering is a core branch so it's a bit difficult for you to get any seat in any NITs. Ninty percentile is not enough. Good luck.
