Congratulation for such an amazing rank. Yes, you can surely get admission in any of the branch in NIT, Rourkela, as you got a good rank. All the facilities are very good in NIT, Rourkela. Starting from infrastructure to hostel facility all the facilities are very good. The placements here are good. The companies come and accept the students with good packages. PSUs recruit with the highest packages. Renowned companies like Schneider electric recruit the students for the internship as well as pre-placement offer. Almost all the branch has an average package of about 5-6 lakhs per annum.
It has the second the largest campus area in India, and infrastructure is the beauty of this college. The institute has cricket ground, football ground, volleyball courts, an indoor hall for badminton, swimming pool, basketball courts, and court for lawn tennis are available for the students. The faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable with apt knowledge of the theoretical and practical application and have high experience. The students are impaired with apt knowledge of the subject and helping the students to get deep into the understanding. They inspire us a lot. It has cultural fest and technical fest as the major attractions, along with other small fests through the year. It has a wide scope for extracurricular activities owing to the various clubs. Hostel facility is also good and has proper exposure and mess facility is also good. Thank you.

NIT-Rourkela has been ranked at 12th position by NIRF rankings. Chemical Engineering is very good academic wise in NIT Rourkela. Chemical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of NIT Rourkela. It has some of the best faculty members and infrastructure on campus. The department recently underwent a massive renovation and up-gradation providing it with infrastructure and logistics at par with international establishments. Placements are similar to other branches of NIT Rourkela. A lot of students undertake higher studies, in India and abroad, in fields such as Materials, Processing, Nanotechnology, Extraction etc. The faculty of Chemical Engineering department deserve particular praise for churning out students who have regularly been chosen for prestigious international internships such as DAAD - Germany, MITACS Globalink - Canada etc. The Chemical Engineering Department also received the highest accreditation from NAAC which was renewed when NBA visited NIT Rourkela last year. According to the past records the opening rank for ECE Branch to get admission in NIT Rourkela is 4578 and closing rank is 8837. The probability of getting the admission in NIT Rourkela is quite less. If your luck favors then you can surely get into NIT Rourkela. All the three of them is good, but you have to choose one of them. IIEST Shibpur Mechanical is ranked at 7th above IIT Kanpur, IIT BHU and BITS Pilani by Edu-Rand a Highly Reputed Indo - American Ranking organization. MHRD / NIRF Ranked IIEST at 7th by Research Parameter At Par with IIT Roorkee - just after six old IITs, but above all other IITs and above all the NITs in the Country. Overall, IIEST Ranked at 20 by MHRD / NIRF above many IITs and Above All NITs except three. Mechanical Engineering in IIEST Shibpur is surely one of the Best Departments in India and definitely better than NIT Allahabad or NIT Culicut by any measure. IIEST has Glorious Record of Producing Brilliant Engineers serving across the Globe and many of them are World Leaders in Engineering in USA / UK / Canada as well as in India. The placement of the mechanical branch is quite good at NIT Rourkela. Core companies like Tata steel, Vedanta, Tata motors, Maruti - Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra and many more visit our campus every year and recruit meritorious students as Graduate engineer Trainees. Sometimes PSUs also come NIT Rourkela because it is one of the top NITs. Fortunately last year Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. NIT-Rourkela is one of the best institute all over India and abroad. The NIRF ranking states, NIT-Rourkela to be in class 12th rank. Itis one of the best choice you have. Because, the placement scenario in Mining engineering, it is very good compared to other branches. Lots of companies come for placement, and now even some companies are offering Pre placement Offers. And, lot more. I think there is not a Mining company in the Country which don't come to NITR. So, you got a lots of choices. And training in Mining fields will also be given to you. Because, the real knowledge is in Mines in the field, not in the book. The opening rank for getting admission in NITR in mining engineering for SC candidates is 1848 and closing rank is 4817, for other states. And, for home state the opening rank is 3467 and closing rank is 6308. So, it may be a bit difficult for getting admission, if you do not belong to home state, but do not loose hope, if your luck favors, you can definitely get admission in NITR.
