According to the cut-off lists of Thapar, your rank can get you in ECE or ENC easily.
So, I think, yes. You can get in 2nd or 3rd cut-off list of Thapar.

Not as such. For some branches like, Mechanical, ECE etc. Thapar University is good over SRM. I agree to a point that in SRM, you can get more exposure than Thapar University.

Yes, you can. It depends in which you want. You can get ECE or other branches easily. Since computer engineering seats have been increase, so yes you may get that also in-person counselling.

Mechanical department of Thapar is well recognized. Thapar's best branch is mechanical. So, yes, placements of any sub-branch of mechanical is good. If you have interest, take it without any doubt.
