Hello Sujata,
Thapar University commands premium in market. So, if you are getting admission there, do not hesitate. Any branch will do. Civil or CSE both are good.

Hello Upkar,
Thapar is nationally recognized college and you need much more than what you mentioned to get admission in that college. With such good marks in 12th, what happened in JEE Mains?

Thapar University today is considered among the leading privately managed engineering institutions of the country. It is amongst the top-10 private universities. The institute offers undergraduate programmes leading to Bachelor of engineering (BE) degree and postgraduate programmes leading to Master of engineering (ME), Master of software engineering, Master of technology (M.Tech), Master of science (M.Sc), Master of computer applications (MCA), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), and Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degrees. Students have to take the JEE-Mains exam to get admission into Thapar University for the undergraduate program and students take the MET exam for admission into graduate/postgraduate programmes. It has one of the best faculty. The campus has six old academic blocks, namely A, B, C, D, E, F and a recently constructed TAN block. The blocks are well constructed with greenery interspersed between them. The university campus has six hostels for boys. Each hostel has a gym, a reading room, and a common room. There is a cooperative mess system in each hostel, and a student executive committee headed by the warden to manage day-to-day hostel activities. All over Thapar is a very good option.
