The college has a separate entrance test called the VITEEE for admissions to Engineering branches. The fee depends upon the rank you get in the entrance exam, depending upon the ranks you get to choose the branches as well as the campus that you study in - since there are four branches of VIT. Further the hostel fees depends on the type of room you choose- there are two-bedded, three-bedded , four-bedded and some hostels 6-bedded, the hostel fees includes the mess charges as well and varies somewhere around INR 1 lakh to INR 1.5 lakhs.

The criteria for admission to VIT is that the candidate should have secured 10+2 or equivalent examination of Central/State Government with 60% aggregate marks and with Mathematics as a compulsory subject of examination. And, 50% for Candidates belonging to SC/ST.
Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. Certificate to Prove Nativity should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
And, the NATA score depends on the valid qualifying score as declared by NATA every year.

The total fee for first year for B.Tech CSE is about Rs 1,98,000/. The Hostel fee is about Rs 1,00,300/ for double bedded AC room and Rs 63,000/ for Non-AC double bedded. The Mess charges are Rs 53,300 (Veg), Rs 59,300 (Non veg) and Rs 67,900 for special.
