Of course NIT's are better as they are government institutions. Thapar University and VIT Vellore are private institutions. No doubt they have a good reputation specially VIT Vellore but I would suggest to go for NIT Jalandhar.

Hi Srinivas, you cannot get a seat at VIT University with a rank of 136000 as the seats have been filled in all categories already , there is no chance to get admission.
Also, only the first 100000 ranks are called for counseling.
