CSE is the most sought after branch in VIT. As a result you have to be really top ranking to get admission. I feel it would be about 90 percentile and better. But, then if you are seeking admission in CSE, you have to be high rank

KIIT is better than VIT. But, VIT is not a bad college. If you want, you can go for BITSAT too.

DTU, NSIT, IIIT, Delhi are better options for engineering in comparison to VIT but VIT is a better option in comparison to GGSIPU and its affiliated colleges based on rankings, brand image and other criterion.
