To get admission to the BSc programme offered at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, candidates must appear for the JEE Main and/ or IISER Aptitude Test (for admission to the dual degree BS plus MS programme). Given below is the detailed IIT Madras BS admission process:STEP 1: Application ProcessFill out the JEE Main application form for admission to the BSc programme and IISER Aptitude Test application form for admission to the dual degree BS plus MS programme.STEP 2: Selection ProcessAdmission to the BSc programme is offered in two modes, either via Regular entry or through an entrance exam.Admission via regular entry*:Qualifier Preparation: The qualifier process includes four weeks of coursework based on lecture videos, assignments, and live sessions that will be provided through online portal. Every week an assignment must be submitted for grading.Qualifier Exam: At the end of the four weeks, a qualifier exam will be conducted for eligible candidates.Admission via entrance exam:Candidates must qualify and submit the score of current year JEE.STEP 3: Counselling and Admission ConfirmationThe institute then declares the merit list and the shortlisted candidates are called to appear for the counselling process who must then pay the IIT Madras BSc fees.*The above-mentioned information is as per past year data and hence, may vary.
