Cutoff for CSE in NSIT is under 2000 rank for general, under 10000 rank for OBC and under 60000 rank for SC/ST.
This is the required cutoff rank for different categories.

These new IITs don't compare with the likes of DTU, NSIT, old NITs, BITS Pilani, IIITH, etc. If you just want to go for the IIT tag then its your choice. But wise decision will be to go for above mentioned institutions. Going for newer IITs just for the sake of brand name is like buying Iphone 4 just for the sake of apple tag when you could have bought much advanced and better phone at the same price.

National institute of technology, kurukshetra is considered as one of the most prestigious technical Institute in our country. I will give some points regarding the college here:
Departments:
CS/IT department : This department bags the highest placement packages every year. The coding culture is very good. The drawback of this department is the faculty ratio. Less no. of professors are experienced and most of them are on contract basis.CCN facility is very good and u can visit there any time.
Mechanical /Production :Mechanical department is very good. Faculty is very experienced and some of the professors are excellent. SAE club in our college is very active and has bagged very good ranks in many National competitions. Placement are good and after the ban has lifted from PSUs hiring from campus, many PSUs has visited our campus. Workshop is very good, all the machines are in working position. But labs for 2nd, 3rd year have machines which are nearly 50 years old and they don't work.
Electrical: This department is pretty decent, professors are experienced and placements are also decent.Labs are good overall.
Civil : This department excel in terms of faculty ratio and experience but not good in terms of placements.
ECE : This department is the most strict department in our college. Placements are average.
All the best

The average salary offered to an ICE candidate in NSIT is about 4-6 LPA.
