Review of Netaji Subhas University of Technology (West Campus).
Placements: Placements are not so good at the NSUT West campus. I'm a first-year B.Tech civil engineering student. In the last year, the average package offered has ranged from 4-5 LPA, and not all the students are placed. I saw one of my seniors who passed out last year got placed with a package of 3.6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not that great. Many instruments are not working properly. There are 6-7 theodolites that are used for survey experiments, out of which only 1 works properly. It is the same for other subjects too.
Faculty: Exams are pretty tough. We need 41 marks out of 100 to pass the semester. There are 2 class tests for 10 marks each, 1 mid-semester of 20 marks, 1 end-semester of 50 marks, and the remaining 10 marks of viva and experiments. There is a 75 percent mandatory attendance for all students. Last time, this mandatory attendance was reduced to 60 percent because the number of students who had above 75 percent attendance was very low. Teachers are well-qualified. They teach very well.

Highly competitive peer group, decent faculty, and placements.
Placements: The placement at the Instrumentation and Control Engineering branch at NSUT is quite impressive because students get to sit for both software/IT and non-teaching roles. Around 80-85% of students get placed with an average of 7-8 LPA, and the highest is up to 63 LPA, but getting an internship is quite difficult.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good, to be honest. All classes are air-conditioned, and those which are not are getting renovated with all this technology. The same goes for hostels, and the course curriculum is decent, with an adequate amount of labs for practical learning.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, except for some, but there are some faculty members like that in every college, so that works. Apart from that, the curriculum is in line with the course and somewhat includes AI, which is trending now and would be beneficial in the future. Overall, it's good and decent.
Other: Of all the courses I was getting during admission, this was the best among them, and the fests and crowd here are also good. Overall, it leaves a positive impact.

Good college, but the fees are a little bit high.
Placements: If you have maintained a CGPA above 8, there will be no problem in placement. The highest package of the year 2025 is 120 LPA, and 2 students received this package. The average for CSE is 24 LPA, and the median is 18 LPA. The overall average is 18.75 LPA, and the overall median is 15 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. APJ classrooms are well designed, and seats are comfortable in fully AC classrooms with high-speed Wi-Fi. The main problem is that they have not utilized the space on the campus. I don't know much about hostels, as I am a day scholar.
Faculty: Some professors are really good at teaching, and some are just doing their job. Maths professors at NSUT are the best, they do lenient checking. If you have studied well, you will get good marks. If you have attended the classes, it will be easy for you to gain marks. As there is relative grading in the maximum subject, you can end up with a good CGPA.

College is good for placement.
Placements: The placements are good here, especially for the Computer Science branch. Many companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, and many fintech companies like Goldman Sachs also come here. The average salary is also good here, around 30 LPA. Mass recruiters also come and take students in bulk.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the Computer Science branch is good. Smart boards, projectors, and APJ complex are amazing for 1st year only. Also Wi-fi everywhere. The library is also good, but the timing can be improved. Dedicated running track in the sports complex. Hostels are average. Food is good, but AC is not available in the boys' hostel.
Faculty: This is a 50/50 situation, it's good, actually good in some cases, but when it comes to attendance and other things, then that becomes painful to go through. Although in the last few semesters, we have had official attendance relations, but since it's not official, we can't say anything about it. The curriculum is diverse and good enough for learning. Exams are good, but as a typical engineering college, grading is never good enough, scoring high CG is tough compared to DTU or other engineering colleges.
Other: The crowd is good with helpful seniors. Good college to go to if you want to build a career in engineering, tech, or non-tech.

NSUT, My experience as a CS undergrad.
Placements: CS undergrad, a plethora of companies come in. Percentage varies yearly, usually stands at 75% for CS branches. Top companies include Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Qualcomm, Cisco, Rippling, etc. SDE roles, Data Analyst, SWE, AI engineering for Tech Analyst, PM, Investment roles for non-tech.
Infrastructure: Library timings are underwhelming for anyone wanting to stay on campus and work. Labs within the electrical paradigm are under-equipped, whereas the CS ones get you by. The number of canteens is few. Hostels are alright, spacious rooms. Water will make you sick, however.
Faculty: Professors are quite competent for the most part, PPT reading NPCs who couldn't give a damn. Though, there are a few who are fantastic and congenial. The course curriculum is highly relevant and updated to what's necessary right now. Exams aren't difficult per se; grading is above medium difficult, and you'll have to put in some hours to get an above-average GPA.
Other: Chose NSUT CSE over DTU IT, MNNIT A CSE, and a few other options; I would've gone for DTU COE/IT due to the easier grading and equal opportunities. DTU is also a bit more liberal within their operation. Events are great. The annual fest has a huge footfall. Campus is really, really green. Almost too green. Extracurriculars are also great, tons of clubs. Things that could improve - more canteens, better hostels and MORE hostels, better classrooms within block 6 and 4, better walkways, hiring better faculty members.

NSUT college review is honest.
Placements: The highest package offered was 85 LPA for the ICE branch. Around 200 students are in this branch. Both tech and non-tech roles are available. The placement percentage for the branch is low, with only 23% for the 2024-25 batch, as per TnP. The top recruiting company is Texas Instruments.
Infrastructure: The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled, classrooms for B.Tech courses are good with comfortable seats, AC in all the classroom and the library is also decent. Most labs don't have working equipments though, so most of the labs have been conducted virtually. Food and sports facilities are good.
Faculty: Most faculty members are bad, they don't give marks easily. Getting a good CGPA is very difficult, still, students get ample time for other works or their own things, mid sem is a total of 20 marks for each subject, and end sem for 50 marks and 30 marks for internals for the exam pattern.

You cannot get admissions into BTech CSE course at NSUT without JEE Mains scores. Because the JEE Mains scores are necessary for admissions to NSUT undergraduate engineering courses. Thus, one can only enroll in the programme if they have valid scores in the entrance examination.

The accepted entrance exam for admissions into BTech course at NSUT is always JEE Mains. Students need to qualify the eligibility as per the JEE Mains first. Then, they can apply for the UG Engineering course at NSUT. Then, students need to appear for JAC Delhi 2026 Counselling.
