Being a cabin crew is a very nice job option. Airlines are always on a hiring spree for cabin crew positions to facilitate their growing fleet size. You may or may not be assisted by your training institute in getting a placement but believe me the real intent to get placed lies in you. Cabin crew is a term used for the members of an aircraft crew, who attend the passengers. Some institutes offers job oriented courses, which helps you to prepare for cabin crew interviews. These are professional training, which doesn't require any certification from any university. They train you as per the airline criteria, so that you can crack the interview.

No actually it is not important to attend training at an institute, you can go for it directly.
However the are many things that are taught in the institutes that help you become more confident for the interview, including flight procedures, communication, personality development etc.

<p>&nbsp;Absolutely, those who have a height of 5.4 or 5.5 feet are pretty much eligible for cabin crew. Most airlines have a minimum height requirement of 5.2 feet (157 cm) for females, and thus you are good to go.</p><p>Just make sure you fit the other criteria also, such as good communication skills, pleasing personality, and not having any major health issues. Most of the airlines need a person, who has completed class 12th. Some of the reputed airlines even demand a graduation with specialization in hotel management and tourism. Fluency in English, Hindi and any of the international languages will be an added advantage. For most of the airlines, the minimum age is 21 years and the maximum is 25 years.
The girl, who pursue to become an air hostess must be unmarried. She should be at least 157.5 cms with normal eyesight of 6/6 uncorrected in both eyes. Minimum arm reach of 212 cms is a must, since she may have to reach the emergency equipment. She should hold a passport.
