The main difference between a drama and theatre is that dramas are written versions of plays, while theatres are animated renditions of play texts. Both drama and theatre are words associated with performing arts and have a very similar meaning that is enough to confuse a lot of people. In fact, people make use of these words interchangeably, which is not correct. The differences between drama and theatre will be highlighted in this article, to enable readers to make correct usage of these words.
Drama
Drama is a word that comes from Greek Dran, which means to do or perform. It literally means action. Drama has many forms and must be construed as a generic term taking on many forms, one of which is theatre. The act or process of performing a play in front of an audience is dramatization. Drama can be an episode of life, such as 9/11, a section in a DVD library or a library of plays, or it can be a fiction full of emotions and conflicts.
Theatre
A word that is very closely linked to drama is the word theatre. Unlike drama, theatre must have three basic properties; a space to perform, actors, and an audience. In the 'space' a drama is brought to life by the ideas of a dramatist, or playwright, the ideas of a director, and the actors' skill which combine to make an audience believe that what is happening on stage -the drama- is real.
The type of theatre can be changed, by changing the three properties, for example, the space in which the actors perform.There is street theatre, in which the actors generally mark out an area of the street and perform a piece of drama whilst the audience gather round or watch a short part as they walk past. On the other hand there is rehearsed theatre; this is usually performed by highly skilled actors that perform for a living. The space that is used for this would have a large stage, seated audience, and special lighting to help the performance come to life.

Uninhibited before unfamiliar audiences
Good memory to learn/memorise one's part
Ability to honour long-term time commitments
Patience, dedication and hard work
Talent, intelligence, vivid creativity and self-confidence. Ability to sing and dance can improve prospects
Mental & physical strength to cope with the demands of the job
Good general health is also important
