Hello Saravanan, The scope of aeronautical engineering encompasses all the subjects which are required for studying of an airborne object. It includes different subjects like metallurgy, structures, electrical, mechanical or avionics to study to a certain extent. Unfortunately, the job prospects in India are very less. Once you get job the salary is as good as any other engineer. Best wishes to you.

Hello Nishant,
It is very nice to know your aim of becoming an aircraft maintenance engineer. Yes, Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy, even though it is mainly known for different courses of Pilots training, offers different courses for aircraft maintenance engineer also. They are in the stream of basically mechanical or avionics. Its 3 years course out of which two and half years will be utilized to give theoretical training and six months will be on job training on any of the aircraft or the facility that DGCA has approved. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information.

After completing your class 10th, if you have an aim of becoming an aeronautical engineer then don't take commerce, take Science in your PU with any of these combinations PCMB, PCMC, and PCME. Some of the colleges SRM University, Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering & Information Technology, and Amity University.

The major setback of this course is that it is only a certification course and not a graduation course. Thus, for any reason, if you cannot get any opportunity in this stream, you will find yourself in the midst of nowhere. The condition of the aviation sector in India is not healthy and thus there is a scarcity of opportunities. No AME institute in India can assure you of 100% placement as there is a huge competition in this world you must work hard and you can get into different fields in the same course which helps you to grow early.

There are 2 ways, you can either join in Diploma or you can prefer aeronautical engineering, where you will come to know the real basics of the maintenance of aircraft, designing and testing. So it's better to do AE.

You have opted a good option because aeronautical engineering is one of the most challenging branches of engineering. It has wide scope of growth in the field of engineering. This field is concerned mostly with the technical as well as the mechanisms of the flying aircrafts. This is an emerging field and deals with the development of new technologies in aviation and defense systems. This field mainly consists of the construction, designing, working, testing, operation, maintenance of the space crafts, satellites, missiles, etc.
