The BA Archaeology programme is a 3-year undergraduate course offered by most universities in India. The course completion including exam qualification is followed by a graduate degree certificate in Archaeology.

Although many top colleges in India ask for CUET UG exam qualification to accept admission in BA Archaeology programs, it is not a mandatory criteria and also differs for different colleges.
Some colleges proceed with admission to their undergraduate archaeology courses based on the IPU CET entrance exam scores.
Many colleges do not require an entrance exam qualification and accept admission based on student's merit in their class 12th board.
It should be noted that a minimum of 50% marks in class 12th is required by most of the top popular colleges in India for BA Archaeology admissions.

The most common entrance exam accepted at the top popular universities of India for BA Archaeology course is CUET UG. Some colleges also accept IPU CET entrance exam scores.
The CUET UG is a national-level exam conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission to most central universities in India. The colleges ask for CUET UG scores along with your 12th class marksheet to allow admission in BA Archaeology course.
The IPU CET exam is conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and is recognised by many colleges in India for BA Archaeology course admission. It is additional requirement along with merit-based qualificatio

If you want to take admission in BA Archaeology colleges of India, you must have class 12th qualification from a recognised board with at least 50% marks (40-45% for reserved category).
In addition to this, many top universities in India also demand entrance exam qualification to accept admission to their undergraduate archaeology courses. Most accepted entrance exams at these universities are CUET UG and IPU CET.
The entrance exam qualification marksheet, 12th board marksheet and other official documents may be required at the time of admission to ensure your seat in BA Archaeology department at these universities.

As the Arts & Humanities stream is mostly preferred by students to pursue a graduate degree course in Archaeology, it is not an essential requirement. Most of the top universities in India do not demand a stream specification in 12th board for taking admission to their BA Archaeology program.
So, to answer your question, yes. You can pursue an undergraduate course in Archaeology after completing your 12th class in Science stream or any stream.
