Civil Engineering courses majorly deals with the planning, structural designing and construction of Structures whereas in Architecture the major focus is given on the aesthetics and space utilization part. Civil Engineering Course also includes construction management skills. As a student of final year in civil engineering Department of Chandigarh University, I have learnt various domains of civil Engineering namely Structures, transportation, Environment, Geotechnical Engineering, water resources including laboratory work which helps in defining quality parameters through which I can easily communicate on quality assurance works. Also, we have planning and design software apart from drafting software AutoCAD, which is generally used by Architects. The design software such as STAAD Pro Bentley, ANSYS, Open Roads, Sewer-gems, water gems etc. help in grooming towards design field. The planning software like Prima Vera and Microsoft Project help in project management systems.
