Bachelor of Fine Arts BFA is an undergraduate degree course that deals with the study of the visual or performing arts. The course includes subjects such as painting, sculpture, photography, and animation. Depending on the candidate's chosen specialisation, a BFA is typically a three- to four-year-long course that can be pursued as a full-time, part-time, online, or distance-learning programme. The basic BFA eligibility criteria requires candidates to be Class 12 graduates in any stream with a minimum 50/60 percent aggregate. Apart from this, preference is sometimes given to candidates who studied arts or humanities in 12th grade and have some basic knowledge of the fine arts subject they are looking to pursue. Many institutes admit students based on merit of class 12th grade. However, some prestigious universities such as Delhi University, Jamia Millia University, BHU, etc. conduct entrance exams. After the result declaration for entrance exams, some colleges also conduct practical and Personal Interview rounds for admission. Candidates looking to pursue a BFA course should also have creative skills such as sketching skills, drawing skills, visualization skills, and imaginative skills.
