Bachelor of Performing Arts: Eligibility
The minimum eligibility for pursuing the degree of Bachelor of Performing Arts is that the student should have passed their 10+2. The student should have obtained at least 50% marks in their senior secondary examinations. Also, the school must be affiliated to a recognized board. Bachelor of Performing Arts: Admission Process:
To get admission into Bachelor of Performing Arts in India, there are generally 2 modes. Students can opt for direct admissions or through entrance exams. The two modes are explained in detail below in a generalized form but this information is not fixed and varies from college to college. Each college has established different sets of patterns for admissions into them. Direct Admission
Most of the universities and colleges in India give direct admissions to students for the BPA course. They keep a minimum eligibility criterion which is passing 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks. Students who fulfill this are given direct admissions. In the direct admission method, students have to fill an application form for the respective university, indicating their preference for the programme. After the university declares cut off for the programme, students are granted admission on verification of their relevant documents. Universities like Mumbai University give admissions on this basis. Delhi University also follows the same pattern. Entrance Exams
Some universities even conduct entrance tests for admitting students in the course of Bachelor of performing arts. The entrance test paper generally consists of a theory paper which is objective in nature. The questions are mainly about instruments and various forms of performance arts. After the theory paper, students are shortlisted for a practical exam. The practical exam is conducted to test the practical knowledge of candidate in their respective domains of performance arts. Banaras Hindu University conducts entrance exams for admissions to BPA. There are some other universities also who conduct entrance exams and they have their own individual patterns for entrance examinations. RBU was established on 1962. At present, it has three faculties, namely, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Visual Arts. Apart from the regular UG, PG and Doctoral programs Rabindra Bharati University (RBU) also offers MA & MSW programs in Distance Education mode. RBU is an affiliating university. It offers UG, PG and Doctoral courses in its Main campus and in Jorasanko & Salt Lake campuses also.
BA & BFA Courses require a pass in 10+2 in the relevant group while for B.Li.Sc & B.Ed programs, a Bachelors degree is mandatory.
Admission is offered on the basis of marks secured by a candidate in the qualifying examination.
RBU also offers Diploma in Tagore Literature and D. Litt in under the faculties of Arts, Visual Arts and Fine Arts
The university offers BA (Hons.), BFA, B.Li.Sc & B.Ed programs in various disciplines under the faculties of Arts, Fine Arts and Visual Arts. The basic eligibility for BA & BFA is a pass in 10+2 with relevant subjects. For B.Li.Sc and B.Ed courses, a Graduation degree is a must.
Admission is completely based on the marks in the qualifying examination. RBU releases the course-wise provisional merit lists for the shortlisted candidates.
Merit List Preparation: For B.A (Hons.) in Rabindra Sangeet, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Dance and Drama subjects, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of score in Admission test (out of 80) and marks in 10+2 (out of 20). The admission test will consist of 50 marks for Practical and 30 for Theory.

46 seats are available in B.Li.Sc program.
Candidates applying under foreign or NRI categories need to appear in the written test followed by viva-voce conducted by the respective department of RBU.
The candidates with a gap in studies in two successive sessions will not be considered eligible for admission process.
No candidate will be allowed to pursue two-degree courses at the same time in the university or any other university simultaneously. Only Diploma or Certificate courses can be considered as exceptions.
Those candidates who are employed in (Govt./ Govt. Aided) are required to submit a No Objection Certificate or an approval letter from the employer to be considered eligible for admission
