You can try for Jadavpur University, a very good institution for language study. And if I talk about colleges in proper Kolkata, I would say St. Xavier's College (autonomous), Scottish Church College and Presidency College. These are the premium institutes.

I think it's better to opt for a PG course. But if your English is fluent, you may try to any MNC or go for Diploma in education for teaching line.

Best four subjects are arranged in high to low weightage and whatsoever is the last subject. Doesn't include in the best four. And English is compulsory in best four. The admission is merit based in DU so your % of best four must be ranges between 85-98%.

No, I think you don't need to choose between the two. UG course of English hons is all in all full fledged. The best colleges to study English honours would be Jadavpur University, Presidency University, St. Xaviers College and Narendrapur Ramkrishna Mission College. These are all autonomous colleges or universities and offer the best faculty, syllabi and marks. They follow a semester system of evaluation which is more effective and profitable for the students than the yearly system.
