Hi, Honestly, according to the graph analysis of degree background related to IAS qualifiers, its a highly heterogeneous data, Degree in any stream hardly matters when it comes to pursuing IAS exam but yes if you wish to lower your burden to some 20% you may go for B.A. As that will help you make a basic interest and foundation to read subjects related to IAS exam in vast. But personally, IAS exam is not degree or stream or merit oriented; the pure mantra is long sitting hours, long reading hours and the retaining power!
Any degree in any stream is anyhow going to help you for optional subject choice while in IAS Mains exam. Good Luck!

Since, you belong to Science stream but preferring Civil Services. So, I would recommend you to go for BA Hons History from any reputed university across India, since I am also a History graduate from University of Delhi, but not aspiring for Civil Services. Taking History will be very helpful, though you can take political Science as well. Yes they do provide 2 years b ed course. For the same entrance test is conducted every year. You can apply for the entrance exam and give your best. You might get a seat there. Best of luck.

Sorry to say but you can't take admission directly in the second year, if you have done 1st year from other college. So either complete your graduation from there or take a fresh admission.
