This is the open university established by an act of legislature for benefit of students who are not in a position to attend regular college. It seems that the university indeed is offering single subject bachlors degree. But then many universities across India also offer single subject BA. Do don't worry. I will suggest you to study BA because in civil service exam, most of the questions are coming from the areas like history, geography, current affairs, politics etc. It's better to improve your standard/base through studying B.A.

If you want to have a honors degree in a particular course, you must take admission in that particular courses only, like for example, if you want to do mathematics honors, then you must take admission in mathematics honors.
