Now, you should know that which subject may be very good and useful for you in preparation. So, I would like to inform you that - History, Geography, Political Science and Economics are the subjects that are necessary for both sections of this examination because these subjects covers more than 50% part of the Paper I in preliminary examination of ICS and there will be separate papers conducted for these papers in main examination under - General Studies I, II, III and IV and in that these subjects will cover at least 2 papers then you will have to choose optional subject from the list of the subjects given by the board and there will be two papers conducted for one optional subject so you can choose any one of the - History/ Geography/ Political Science and International Relations/ Public Administration/ Economics/ Psychology/ Sociology or any other literature subject to appear for those two papers so no subject is useless in this examination
First of all you should see that which subject is most interesting for you in arts stream and for that you can get books from library and read complete details then choose better combination and basically we are allowed to choose three subjects with English as compulsory so you can choose any combination from the following
History + Geography + Sociology
History + Geography + Political Science and International Relations
History + Geography + Economics
History + Geography + Public Administration
Geography + Political Science and International Relations + Economics
History + Economics + Public Administration
Geography + Economics + Public Administration
There will be various combinations available to choose but I would like to tell you that do not leave History and Geography from your combination and if possible then take Economics with that so you will get huge profit in preparation of this examination because you will complete your basic infrastructure of preparation while XI and XII then graduation in the same way for in depth details so the combination of - History + Geography and Economics will be the best for you and for that you need to work hard over all subjects mentioned here in combination because in depth study is necessary and if you get good knowledge then you will be able to score good marks in examination so you have to walk according to the requirement and prepare for exam.
