B.Des Eligibility

Eligibility for the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme at NID Vijayawada is carefully outlined to ensure that candidates possess the necessary academic background and aptitude for design. To be considered for admission, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

1. Academic Qualifications:

   • have passed or will appear for the higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations in the academic year 2024–25.
   • Attained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations.
   • passed from any stream, including science, arts, commerce, humanities, etc., from a recognised board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE, or an equivalent.

2. National Entrance Test (NET) or Design Aptitude Test (DAT):

   • Have you appeared for the National Entrance Test (NET) or Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted by NID? The DAT is a crucial component in assessing a candidate's design aptitude, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

3. Portfolio Submission:

   • Candidates are required to submit a portfolio showcasing their design work. This portfolio serves as a tangible representation of the candidate's creativity, design thinking, and ability to express ideas visually.

Meeting these eligibility criteria ensures that candidates have a solid academic foundation and have demonstrated their aptitude for design through the competitive entrance tests and portfolio submission. Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent or Class 10 along with three-year Diploma with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) can apply for the BDes course. Additionally, candidates appearing for the final year exam can also apply for any of the BDes specialisation. SID Pune offers BDes in four major disciplines, namely Communication Design (Graphic Design, User Experience Design, Animation, Film Design, Video Film Design), Industrial Design (Product Design, Interior Space Design), Fashion Design and Fashion Communication. After filling the application form, aspirants are required to appear for Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) followed by Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction.

Artemisia College of Art & Design, was started in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. It is affiliated to Raja Mansingh Tomar Music & Art University and it is a private college.

Artemisia College of Art and Design, offers B. Des in 4 specializations with the total intake capacity of 135 seats. The eligibility criteria to apply for these courses is 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board. Admission is done as per the availability of seats and college selection criteria.

A minimum of Class 12 is required to apply for BDes course at IIT Bombay. Below is the detailed eligibility:

• Candidates should have been born on or after Oct 1, 1999., if belonging to Open/ EWS/ OBC-NCL Category and on or after October 1, 1994, if belonging to SC, ST or PwD Category.
• Aspirants should have obtained a rank in UCEED. A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.
• Candidates need to pass all five subjects in Class 12 or equivalent. Those who have appeared for the first time in the qualifying exam in 2022 or earlier are not eligible.

Below are the eligibility & selection criteria for admission to the Bachelor of Design (BDes) programme at MIT Institute of Design:

• The candidate must have passed class 12 in any stream.
• Candidates must appear for the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted by MIT Institute of Design based on which they will be selected for further admission rounds.
• Candidates based on their performance in the DAT exam will be shortlisted for the Studio Test and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.
• Those who qualify for the Studio test and PI rounds will be required to report to the admission cell at MIT Institute of Design for document verification and fee payment leading to final seat allotment.
