This commonly called as the "college of fire engineering", even though located in Nagpur in the state of Maharashtra, comes under the category of centrally funded technical institutes and as a result admissions are based on the performance in JEE Mains examination. The date for applying for the second round of this examination had just closed and it would be unfortunate if you have not appeared for this examination in the first round or in the second round. National testing agency would be declaring the all India rank based on the best of to principle, hopefully by the end of April and after that the students will come will come to know about the chances of getting admission in NIT or CFTI or similar institutes. Maharashtra is among the few states, which does not conduct any entrance examination for giving admission directly into second year of engineering colleges by what is called as the lateral mode of admission. However, the selection of candidates is based on the marks obtained by them in either the Diploma examination conducted by the government of Maharashtra or the B.Sc examination conducted by different universities. You will have to apply online seeking admission for lateral mode on the website of directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra. Presently, this is not available as there is still some time left for the declaration of results of the Diploma students.
