IGNOU B.Ed eligibility:
Candidates with at least fifty five (55) percent marks either in the Bachelor's degree and/or in the Master's degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity, Bachelors in Engineering or
Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.
The candidate should have two years full-time teaching experience on temporary/permanent basis as Primary/Graduate/Post Graduate teacher in a primary, secondary/higher/senior secondary school with registration number recognized by the respective Directorate of Education or Central or State Government or Union Territory.

For selection as teachers in government run schools Applicants must pass the CTET. The National Council for Teacher Education frames regulations and takes final decisions. CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is conducted by CBSE and taken by aspirants aiming to become teachers in classes 1 to VIII, according to the guidelines of the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE).
Eligibility for teachers Classes 1-5 : XII and Dip Elem Ed (2 year) or XII and Bachelors Elem Ed (4 years) /Dip Spl Ed/ Graduation and Dip Ed (2 years)
Eligibility for teachers for Classes VI-VIII for Languages, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science etc. : Graduation and Dip Elem Ed (2 years) or B.Ed orB. ElemEd (4 years)or 4 year B.Ed/B.Sc Ed or Graduation and 1 year B.Ed Special Education
