The starting salary of a librarian in India is between INR 2.5 to  INR 4.5 LPA. Entry-level positions mostly open up in small public libraries, schools, or private institutions which is approximately INR 2.5 LPA, whereas if you qualify for a master’s degree, you can grab positions in larger universities, colleges, and government institutions.

M.Lib.Sc graduates and experience in digital and information management can bag higher salary, especially in specialised or senior roles.

No, to become a librarian, especially at the entry-level positions, a Bachelor of Library Science (B.Lib.Sc) degree is also sufficient. This will help you get a job as a librarian in schools, public libraries, etc. But an important point to note is that many universities, research institutions, and specialised libraries always give preference to candidates who hold M.Lib.Sc for advanced roles as this course equips them with specialised skills and knowledge.

Librarians are in charge of the library's inventory, as well as classifying materials and conducting frequent audits.

To become a Librarian, candidates must first complete library Science courses at the certificate, diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate levels. A bachelor's degree in library and information science and a bachelor's degree in library science are two of the most common courses pursued by prospective librarians in Ind

Students can use library science to design their future. Graduates of librarian courses, including the BLibSc programme, will have the chance to work for companies that require to manage and storing a great deal of information. After completing this programme, students who enjoy reading will be more motivated to seek a career since they will have gained more knowledge about handling and organising books and information. Several NGOs, and public, and private libraries hire recent BLibSc graduates.

A career as a librarian is high in demand in both the government and private sectors. Being a librarian can be a rewarding career that provides opportunities to advance knowledge, interact with communities, and foster intellectual growth.

Librarians embrace technology, acquire excellent information management skills, and support intellectual freedom in a variety of roles in academic, public, and special libraries. Stability, chances for professional growth, and the capacity to positively influence people and communities are all offered by the profession. But when thinking about this professional option, one should also assess

The age limit for the librarian course is generally 35 years, with age relaxation for certain categories such as SC/ST/OBC and differently-abled.

Service candidates can apply for B.Lib.I.Sc through meeting the eligibility criteria set by colleges or universities. Typically, the candidates need to have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum percentage of marks, usually around 50-55%. They must fill out the application form, meet the admission criteria of the specific college they are interested in, and may need to clear an entrance exam if required by the institution.

The admission process can be either through direct admission based on merit or through an entrance test. Candidates should check the specific requirements of the college the

For the most precise and current information regarding the requirements for the university's Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.Lib) degree, I advise visiting the official website or getting in touch with the admission office directly.

A bachelor's degree in any subject from an accredited university with a minimum percentage or grade requirement is normally required in order to be eligible for B.Lib courses in universities. But particular requirements can differ from university to university, thus for correct information, you should consult the university's official sources.
