I understand it feels tough seeing your rank reach 56,000. The general cutoff for B.Sc. Forestry at Ponnampet is much higher—around 9,800. At this rank, a seat under the general category isn't possible. Still, if you belong to a reserved category (like ST/SC/OBC), you might have a chance—those cutoffs are usually lower.
So don't lose hope yet. Make sure you attend all rounds of counselling and check category-wise cutoffs.

For the general category it is 190-195 and around 200 for class 12. For SC/ST category the cutoffs are comparatively lower, around 180. For admission, apply during TNAU counselling. The application opens in June or July, through the online TNAU portal. Next there will be a fee payment and document submission.

For Forestry, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (Pantnagar) and Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (Bhubaneswar) are good options. Additionally, some universities like University of Calcutta and Lovely Professional University offer both degrees.
