Hi, No, NEET is not compulsory/ mandatory for B.Sc. Nursing. It's just that nursing colleges are free to choose NEET as their entrance examination but as of now only a few nursing colleges like BHU, Indian Army B.Sc. Nursing, JIPMER, IPU, etc. Have started accepting NEET for B.Sc. Nursing. Without NEET you can get admission through other entrance examinations like:-
AIIMS B.Sc. Nursing entrance exam
RUHS Nursing entrance exams
CMC Ludhiana B.Sc. Nursing entrance
KGMU Nursing entrance exam
Uttarakhand Nursing Entrance Exam. The general eligibility criteria is that one should have at least 50 % in 12th board examination with Physics Chemistry

The fee starts from INR 20,000/- and above. It is based on the additional facilities like a library and interactive sessions, etc.

Admission to VIT is conducted on a merit basis through it's own online entrance exam, called the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination VITEEE and through management quota also. Nearly 2,00,000 students appear for the entrance test every year.

No, NEET is not compulsory/mandatory for B.Sc. Nursing, it's just that nursing colleges are free to choose NEET as their entrance examination but as of now only a few nursing colleges do so, in order to apply for Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination Bachelor of Science in Nursing, register for the exam, fill JKBOPEE B.Sc. Nursing application form, upload documents, and pay fee.

You can approach other colleges with the same course under the same board to take you in their 3rd semester. If you have the eligible SGPA, they might take you in. Else, you have to take admission in the first year.
