IISER Pune does not offer a BSc course in the standard form. It offers a BS-MS course for the duration of five years, divided into ten semesters, and offered in full-time mode. For admissions to this dual-degree BS-MS course, candidates must have secured marks equal to or above the cutoff percentage declared by IISERs for their respective category (General/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ PwD).

Every year in February or March, a written objective exam will be administered at a few chosen locations (published periodically). Every year in April or May, students who pass the entrance exam will be invited to an interview at a few chosen centers. Applicants need to be deemed medically fit.
