To prepare for government jobs, you can appear for GATE. Many PSUs like IOCL, CONCOR, ONGC, HAL recruits students through GATE. Shortlisted students are called for interviews and then based on it, they are finally selected.

None of the field is easy but if you are weak in maths, I would recommend you to go for civil engineering because architecture involves lot of mathematical calculations at almost every step.
