There are around 30 colleges in India where you can study the BTech Pharmaceutical Engineering course. Out of these, around 23 are private entities, and the remaining are government colleges. For private colleges, you can go for Centurion University of Technology and Management (Orissa), P. Savani University (Surat), Paavai Engineering College, BV Raju Institute of Technology (Hyderabad), Mahendra Engineering College (Namakkal), etc.

For government colleges, popular student choices are IIT BHU, Calcutta University, ICT Mumbai, Alagappa College of Technology (Anna University), etc.

The B Tech in Pharmaceutical Engg. entrance exam is usually seen as highly competitive. This is because the admission is based on national/state level exams like JEE Main and MHT CET, which in themselves are known for their competitiveness and difficulty level. There is cutthroat competition for seats at Pharmaceutical Engineering colleges, so you should prepare really well and get outstanding marks to secure a place.

For the B Tech Pharmaceutical Engineering course admission, there are a few entrance tests that you need to sit for and get excellent marks in. JEE Main, MHT CET, TS EAMCET, Andhra Pradesh EAMCET, and GUJCET top the list.
Plus, the Tamil Nadu students can apply for the TNEA Counselling after Class 12, which is a major source of admission to BTech Pharmaceutical Engineering. Other colleges that give admission based on merit in Class 12 boards often take extra rounds like the GD or PI to test the aptitude of students.

All the popular B Tech Pharmaceutical Engineering colleges in India have certain eligibility requirements for admission. You should have at least 50 to 60% marks in the PCM subjects in the Class 12 board exams. A few private colleges may take in PCB students; it is not very likely, though.

Also, you need to clear relevant entrance exams and score excellent marks to grab a seat for the course. For colleges offering merit-based admissions, you may have to give the GD or PI rounds for final admission.

The general duration of the B Tech Pharmaceutical Engineering course is 4 years in India, which is spread across 8 semesters that combine theory classes, and labs and research projects. The UG-level engineering degree courses are usually 4 years long, except for integrated BTech-MTech courses that go up to 5 years.
