Yes, Rai University  provides lateral entry to the BTech course. Through lateral entry, candidates get direct admission in the second-year of the course. BTech (LE) is offered for a duration of three-years to aspirants who have completed Diploma recognised by central or state government with at least 50% aggregate or BSc Mathematics or its equivalent. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria must meet the merit requirement set by the university for admission. The university also BTech (LE) in two specialisations, namely Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology. Admission to BTech (LE) course is based on merit in the last qualifying exam. The University accepts entrance exam such as JEE for the selection round. After completing the selection rounds, candidates need to come for counselling and document verification round.

Generally speaking, IIT Mandi enjoys a higher ranking and reputation nation-wide than does IGDTUW. IITs enjoy a good reputation throughout the country when it comes to the quality of education and research.

2. Department Strength: The CSE department of IGDTUW is good concerning faculties, and the industry linkages are also good. IIT Mandi has a great Mechanical Engineering branch with excellent research facilities.

On the other hand, if you prefer a more general, higher-ranked institution with better placement, then the option for you may be IIT Mandi. If you want a good CSE course with a core technology drive, then IGDTUW is not a bad choice.
