Yes IMUCET is mandatory for B.Tech Marine Engineering admission. IMU conducts a Common Entrance Test IMUCET every year on all India basis for admissions to its courses for IMU campuses and Affiliated Institutes. As per DGS Training Circular 12 of 2020 dated 01.04.2020, all MTIs regulated by DG Shipping are required to admit candidates on the basis of IMUCET making IMUCET mandatory for admission to DGS approved Courses. Hence Candidates seeking admission in Diploma in Nautical Science, B.Sc. (Nautical Science), and B.E/B.Tech. (Marine Engineering) to any MTI (government. Or Private- Affiliated to any University) are required to qualify in IMUCET.
