Hello Sanjeev,
Lateral admission directly to second year of engineering is based on similarity of subjects. Normally every state publishes a table that gives information as to which branches of Diploma can get a student admission in which branch of engineering. You should look this up on the website of the DTE of technical education of your state.

Hello Hussain,
2 years gap after completion of graduation in engineering before pursuing for Masters is not at all an issue. Many students go for job for couple of years to gain experience in the field and then and go for their post graduation studies. You only need to account for these two years when you apply for MS anywhere. Best wishes to you.

Here I am sharing the eligibility criteria for B.Tech. Lateral entry programme I. e. Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (engineering. ). (any stream) [3 years after 10th or 2 years. After 10+2 (Non-Medical)] or Diploma in Architectural Assistantship or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent.
