Choosing between Chandigarh University (CU) and taking a year drop depends on your goals. CU is a decent option with NAAC A+ accreditation, NIRF ranking, good infrastructure, industry tie-ups like IBM, and strong placements, though competition is high and average packages are modest. If you are satisfied with private university education, can afford the fees, and are ready to work hard on projects, internships, and certifications, CU is a safe choice. However, if your dream is to study in IITs, NITs, IIITs, or top state universities for stronger brand value, research opportunities, and long-term advantages, then a drop year with dedica

From my experience, B.E. CSE at Chandigarh University is worth considering. The programme emphasizes both theory and practical skills, with well-equipped labs, coding workshops, and project-based learning.Students are encouraged to specialised in areas like AI, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing, which are highly valued in the industry.CU also connects students with internships and industrial projects, helping them gain hands-on experience before placements. The placement cell is proactive, organizing training, aptitude sessions, and mock interviews to prepare students for top companies like SAP and IBM. Honestly, I wouldn't keep Chandigarh University as just a "last option" If you get CSE at this university, it's actually a good opportunity. The faculty are supportive, labs are modern, and placement are decent- many students get into reputed companies through campus drives. Taking a drop sounds appealing if you're aiming for IITs or NITs but it comes with pressure and uncertainty.

The engineering dept gives you a platform to start immediately, explore coding, projects, and even prepare for higher studies or competitive exams side by side. I know seniors who joined CU thinking it was a backup, but later they realized it opened many door

The accurate placement packages offered to BTech CSE students at CUSAT are yet to be released. The university is soon going to release the placement statistics. However, CUSAT has released the sort of overview of placements, which indicates that the highest package secured by the graduates stood at around INR 25 LPA. One can expect a similar package for BTech students.

When it comes to BCA, Chandigarh University provides students with a very supportive environment that leads to great placements. The university's placement success for BCA is consistently strong, as most students secure opportunities with reputed IT companies, startups, and consulting firms. The average placement rate is encouraging, and this is possible because CU ensures that BCA students receive practical exposure through live projects, internships, and industry-led workshops from the very beginning of the program.

Unlike traditional BCA programs, CU's curriculum is designed to keep up with industry trends, covering areas such as app

It depends on course to course, what you are opting for. If we talk about simple B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering, then The programme has a duration of 4 years with a semester fee of ?1,46,000. Apart from this, students are also required to pay an examination fee of ?2,500 and a security fee of ?2,000. It is also mandatory for students opting for engineering course to give Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET), the test is very simple and easy by giving this exam you can also get a scholarship upto 100%. So even if CUCET is not required for admission, giving it can really help you reduce your course fee.
