For entering into the IITs, you need to qualify two the toughest examination I. e. JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. And for cracking these two exams, you need some best study strategies:
1. Understand each topic clearly.
2. Do lots of hardwork and practice more and more questions.
3. Make smart and good notes.
4. Revise all the formulaes.
5. Solve as many as previous year question papers.

CT University has tie up with various educational and corporate entities. Moreover, it has limited seats in B.Tech which limits the competition.
Highest salary package was offered around 8 LPA.

I only know about two university who provide B.Tech lateral entry
1. LPU
2. CT University.

I think it will be difficult for you to get admission in our college (Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College) with this rank. I'm not even sure about you getting any government college.

You have very less chances for getting a good college for any stream. However, you have to look for some top private colleges/universities like VIT, Amity, Galgotia and Bennette, etc. Because these will give you the benefit of CBSE scores.

In LIT, Nagpur the total intake in petrochemical technology is about 12 and the preferences are given to JEE score holders. So sorry dear your chances are very less.

MEPCO is the best entrance for placements.

The difficulty level of IPU CET exam is considered to be moderate. The books you can refer for IPU CET exam preparation: NCERT books and Arihant books.
