BBA Eligibility

The admission process at GIBS for MBA/PGDM has been constructed with the aim of judging students in their academics, aptitude, communication skills, and overall capabilities. The selection procedure includes several rounds to ensure a perfect selection of students.

GIBS admission process includes the following steps:

• First step is to submit the online application along with the academic details and the entrance test scores applicable like CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/ATMA/GMAT/and others.
• Next stage is the screening of application in which eligibility, academic record and score in entrance tests is checked.
• The applicant must then submit the statement of purpose (SOP) which showcases the reason of pursuing the programme along with the career aims and prospects.
• Thereafter Group discussion stage takes place which consist of the checking for communication abilities, coordination and reasoning capabilities.
• Finally the Personal Interview round takes place to check the personality, future aspects and subject knowledge of the individual along with much more.

The student enrollment at GIBS Business School is really based on the programme and the type of student being enrolled, but as an average number you can expect:

• PGDM: Between 240–300 a year (most commonly reported numbers are either 240 or 300)
• BBA: Approximately 180

When you add these together, the average number of students admitted to both programs every year is:

• PGDM: 250–300
• BBA: 180

The size of these admissions allows GIBS to have a good level of involvement in the classroom, as well as allowing the students access to an adequate amount of exposure to business through industry visits, club activities, internships and placements while still ensuring an adequate level of interaction with the teaching faculty.

Rather than evaluating only academic achievement, we will consider candidates as a whole, including how prepared they are both to succeed in college and to contribute in the workplace.

The following criteria will be used to evaluate candidates:

  Academic history as well as proficiency in the specific subject area.

  Ability to articulate ideas clearly and definitively.
• Technical/Domain Knowledge
  Specific knowledge of a given discipline (e.g. Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, or Business Analytics).

  Ability to make decisions based on logical reasoning.
• Leadership Experience
  Participation in campus clubs/activities/committees and in leadership roles.
• Work/Internship Experience
  Experience from internships, live projects, or case studies.
• Interpersonal Skills/Teamwork
  Ability to work well with others.
• Professionalism
  Confidence; A positive attitude; A willingness to learn; and Adaptability.
• Evaluation in the Selection Process
  Aptitude tests; Group Discussion (GD); Personal Interview (PI).
