It is although not allowed, but some colleges might give this privilege to change the stream. You will have to talk to the concerned authorities of your college about the same. They will be able to guide you well in this regard.

BCA Course: Eligibility
Candidates who wish to pursue BCA course must fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria. Pass in 10+2 examination in any stream from a recognised board of education. English as a subject of study. A minimum aggregate score of 45% at 10+2 level. Some colleges prefer students from Science stream or those who have studied Mathematics and Computer Science at 10+2 level. B.Tech is a more comprehensive course and includes lot of subjects + lots of practical and has a subset from the BCA course syllabus too. BCA helps to build programming skills for developing software/website/cloud/mobile applications. English and Mathematics being compulsory subjects in previous study. BCA is for 3 years and B.Tech for 4 years. For both these courses, job opportunities are plenty in the IT sector. However, scope wise B.Tech graduates could have relatively more flexibility in the positions and also the pay. BCA is a great platform for higher studies such as MCA.
