All streams students can do BCA. A majority of universities require maths at 10+2 stage as a condition for seeking admission in BCA. However, few universities such as IGNOU allows non-maths students also to seek admission in BCA.

MBA in IT will not lead your son to software development, but it will lead him to software marketing and other infrastructural maintenance.
All the best.

If you have interest in technical field go for MCA and along with it do some certification course on Big Data, SAP, Artificial Intelligence. As the current scenario in IT industry is concentrating on automation.
If you want to move in management field, MBA is a good option, you will have diversified option to choose in MBA program. Marketing/Finance/Data Science have extensive use of computers now a days. Your knowledge on computers can come handy here.

The general eligibility criteria to be eligible for applying for BCA course is 10+2 from a recognised board of education or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in total and also having mathematics as a subject in the qualifying examination. Some colleges such as IGNOU allow non-maths students to seek admission in BCA. You will have to chose college or university which allows non-maths students in BCA. You may face similar challenges in MCA also because of your non-maths background.
