NIMSEE is not compulsory to pursue B.Sc Science in biochemistry. How to Get Admission in Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biochemistry):
The admission to this course is generally merit-based. Universities begin admission process to the programme after the results for HSC examinations are declared. Application forms are traditionally available in the month of May. Once the application process is complete, universities declare their respective cut off which is the minimum required percentage for admission to the programme. On the other hand, universities like Aligarh Muslim University, conduct an entrance test for admission to the programme. This entrance test is objective in nature and contains topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. Questions are from 10+2 syllabus and test a students proficiency in topics taught in Higher Secondary School. Selection Process
For universities which offer merit-based admission, the sole criteria for selection is marks scored in best four subjects in 10+2 examination and fulfilment of the cut off requirement. For universities which conduct an entrance-exam, the selection is based on performance in entrance test and marks scored in 10+2. A balanced weightage is given to both the assessments to prepare a merit list for selected candidates. Regards.
