Boston College is best known for its unwavering academic excellence and Jesuit, Catholic mission of faith and service. To be considered for admission to Boston College, international students must achieve a minimum score of 100 on the TOEFL iBT and TOEFL iBT Home Edition tests. The minimum required scores for other language tests are as follows:

Boston College does not accept the TOEFL MyBest score or the Duolingo English Test. The university has adopted a test-optional policy for first-year applicants to the Classes of 2027. 

Boston University offers merit-based scholarships such as the Trustee Scholarship and the Presidential Scholarship to international students. There are external scholarships available to Indian students, such as the Higher Education Scholarship Test for Indian Students (HEST 2024). Through the Gabelli Presidential Scholars Programme, new freshmen can apply for scholarships to Boston College. As long as they meet the November 1 priority scholarship deadline, candidates for the Presidential Scholarship will be considered for both the Regular Decision and Early Decision categories.
